Meet
Kelly.

Kelly is a small business owner and has over 25 years of experience in real estate, and over four decades of experience in other businesses. He is especially proud of growing up in rural North Carolina; he spent much of his childhood and teen years on his grandparents’ farms. On those farms, he learned to shoot, fish, drive a tractor and other useful skills.

Kelly is married, and he and his wife have one daughter. They are saved!

​

He graduated from Appalachian State University, and he received a graduate teaching certificate from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He also attended North Carolina State University and Gardner-Webb University.

​​

Kelly believes in servant leadership, and he served in the United States Marine Corps and Reserves; he earned and an Honorable Discharge.

​

He also worked for Congress where he specialized in veterans’ issues.

​

Kelly consistently supports conservative values, ensuring transparency and honesty in his communications. As a senior member and chair of several House committees, he has significantly contributed to North Carolina's economic stability by fulfilling his commitments, safeguarding taxpayers, and reducing bureaucratic hurdles.

As the former chairman of the Transportation Committee, Kelly helped prioritize billions of dollars towards transportation projects that boost economic security and safety.


Kelly champions the increase in salaries for teachers and state employees and supports widespread tax reductions that benefit people in the public and private sectors.​

​

He takes particular pride in assisting constituents with cutting through government red tape to enhance accountability.

He has successfully led over 25 bills and resolutions to become

laws or pass in the legislature.

​

He supports organizations like the National Rifle Association (NRA),

the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), and North

Carolina Right to Life. For his efforts in public safety, he received the

Defender of Public Safety Award from the North Carolina Sheriffs’

Association.

​

Recognized for his support of national defense and first responders, Kelly

received the Civilian Meritorious Service Medal from the Adjutant

General of the North Carolina National Guard for legislative changes that

enhance the selection criteria for the Adjutant General, aligning with federal

promotion standards.
